I thought I'd share what I'm working on right now. The first priority is umbraco v3.0.2 which contains the last tiny updates. Still no showstoppers, but a few minor adjustments before the big mail goes out in August telling all previous umbracians (35k+) that it's time to update. I'm really looking forward to that.
Once v3.0.2 is out, I'll finalize the certification program. This really suffered from the v3 dev and is much more delayed than planned. Loads of people is on the waiting list to get their certification confirmed and listed and that's not satisfying at all.
At last it's time to give a little love to umbracoStats. A v1.1 will come by the end of the month with following enhancements:
- Support for v3 in installer (the current one gives an error due to the changes in the dashboard file name)
- A more generic sql date inserter, so you can use the default date chooser in your own reports
- Faster load on the dashboard through use of Ajax
- Compression on ip-addresses when doing country lookup (for performance)
- Support for using folders to organize reports in the tree
- Support for using the graph controls in your own projects
- Support for getting a whole report through the api, so you can either schedule e-mailing of reports or generating pdfs
A part from that, I keep polishing the UI of Courier which is absolutely stunning and definately the most interesting and funny work I've been doing in years. Very soon I'll post a little screencast showing how to move content from one installation to another. It's so simple, you won't believe it (hint: the screencast will come up very shortly after the old blog posts are live on this site).
I hope you enjoy the summer and I look forward to share all this work with you.
Are you working on anything umbraco related - then share in the comments :-)
