Introduction

Hello! My name is Warren Buckley, and this guide is used to help you install and configure the Creative Website Starter Site for Umbraco. The idea that motivated me to create this sample website on the Umbraco CMS platform is that it can be a learning tool for you to understand how all the components of an Umbraco CMS website work together to build a simple website. The Creative Website Starter Site for Umbraco will give you the simple stepping stones that will help you build bigger and better Umbraco websites of your own.

Now you know why I have created this project I will briefly tell you who I am. Well you already know my name is Warren Buckley and I run an Umbraco and XHTML tips & tricks blog at www.creativewebspecialist.co.uk. I have been using Umbraco exclusively since Umbraco V2 back in 2006 and have seen it grow. I am a certified Level 1 Umbraco Developer and have received two Umbraco MVP awards (2007/08 & 2008/09) for my contribution to the Umbraco community. In addition to this I have previously written a Website Starter Site for Umbraco but with this version the focus is on documentation to support it and to help new users to the Umbraco platform.

With this project I have help from an ex‐colleague and great designer Sam Grady who has designed the new look Creative Website Starter Site for Umbraco.
